The ancient Prachin Mansarovar Mandir, located in the Andhiyari Bagh area of Gorakhpur, continues to be a major spiritual and cultural center attracting devotees from across the region. The temple, believed to have been established centuries ago by King Mansingh, holds great significance in local religious traditions and is closely associated with the Gorakhnath Temple and the Nath sect.
Recently, on Shrawan Shivratri (July 23, 2025), Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath performed a special Rudrabhishek and havan ritual at the Mansarovar Temple, offering prayers for the well-being, peace, and prosperity of people across the state. The ceremony was conducted with traditional Vedic rites and attended by prominent leaders and priests.
The temple also draws large crowds during festivals such as Mahashivratri and Sawan, when devotees arrive early in the morning for Shivling abhishek and other rituals, often creating a festive, mela-like atmosphere.
Today, the Mansarovar Temple remains one of Gorakhpur’s most revered religious sites, known for its ancient heritage, spiritual rituals, and continuous community support through regular worship and special ceremonies.
